- **Event Description**: The first ever New Orleans Asian American Film Festival will begin on Thursday, Nov. 13, 6 pm, at the Broad Theater (corner of 636 North Broad Street and Orleans Avenue).  

The event on Thursday will feature a screening of the documentary New Wave (2024), highlighting the influence of New Wave music on displaced Vietnamese American youth in California during the 1980s.  This screening will include a panel discussion with filmmaker Elizabeth Ai and singer Lynda Trang Dai.

Tickets to the Thursday event are $35 and can be purchased from the Broad Theater.

The festival continues on Sunday, Nov. 16, 11 am, with screenings of three documentaries at the Tulane School of Public Health (1440 Canal Street).  Admission to the Sunday event is free.
