Weaving traditional Philippine dance, contemporary movement, and spoken-word poetry, their transformative work navigates ancestral heritage, immigration, and anti-colonial resistance.The performance brings together two extraordinary voices:Malaya Ulan: Philadelphia Youth Poet Laureate (2024–25) and TEDxPenn speaker, delivering sharp, resonant poetry that bridges generation, justice, and memory.Anito Gavino: Acclaimed choreographer, dancer, and recipient of prestigious honors including the Leeway Transformation Award, MAP Fund, and National Performance Network grants, with a performance legacy spanning Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and Kun-Yang Lin/DancersCheck out the inspiring art exhibit curated by artist and professor Nasreen Khan. Nasreen Khan is an Indianapolis-based mixed-media artist, educator, and activist whose evocative work explores identity, immigrant motherhood, and cultural heritage. Her impactful community initiatives have earned her an Indy Arts Council Public Art for Neighborhoods grant, a Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship, a 2026 ABC Fellowship with Arts for Learning Indiana, and recognition as a Midwest Arts Writers Fellowship runner-up.PJ Raval is an award-winning queer, first-generation Filipino American filmmaker and cinematographer whose work fearlessly explores identity, community, and social justice. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Raval is widely recognized for groundbreaking, intimate documentaries including Call Her Ganda, Before You Know It, and Trinidad. His films have screened at premier festivals worldwide—including Sundance, Tribeca, and SXSW—amplifying marginalized voices and sparking vital dialogue around LGBTQ+ and immigrant experiences. Named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s "25 New Faces of Independent Film," Raval brings uncompromising vision and transformative storytelling to the screen and stage.Also welcome ROSALEE AKI, San Francisco -New Orleans African-American Filipino multidisciplinary creative, artist, poet, teacher, community organizer/engagement.Visit with the original "Balikbayou" and experience the heartbeat of San Francisco’s Latin music scene with legendary master percussionist Jarmon Balberan and the LatiPino All-Stars, who was literally born across from the New Orleans Jazz Museum and learned his love for music from his Manilaman Marigny father, Constancio Balberan. For decades, Jarmon has been a pillar of the SF Bay Area music community. Known for his current work with powerhouse groups like Anthony Blea, Guajiirón, Sofrito, Conjunto Corazón, Salsamigos, Susana y su Orquesta Adelante, and has played with The Escovedos, Santana, Malo, and more.
