- **Event Description**: Join us for a special organ recital featuring Dr. Steven Hoffman, a former member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Dr. Hoffman will be performing on Emanuel's new pipe organ, Parsons Pipe Organ, Opus 57.

Dr. Hoffman holds a Ph.D. in organ performance from the University of Michigan. He serves at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and also serves at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and Campus Center in Laramie. In addition, he is a Lecturer in Music at the University of Wyoming, where he teaches Organ and Counterpoint. He began his organ training in the seventh grade with Mrs. Judi Thoma while attending Emanuel.

As an accomplished performer, he has presented organ festival programs across North America and Europe, specializing in hymn-based improvisation. In October 2017, he was honored to present recitals of improvisations on the hymns of Martin Luther at historic churches in Wittenberg, Germany, as part of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.

The recital is free and open to the public. A light reception will follow the performance. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the power of our new church organ and welcome a talented member of our community back home.
