Beyond the Scale: How Weight Loss Medications Can Relieve Hip and Knee Pain

This lecture will provide a comprehensive overview of the Orthopedic CARE program as well as the use of weight loss medications prior to total joint replacement surgery. We’ll explore the difference between weight loss Medic*tion, risks and benefits of taking these medications, when it is appropriate to start and stop medications and how weight loss allows for better outcomes in total joint replacement surgery and overall improvement of hip and knee pain. This talk will be given by a North Shore University Hospital Orthopedic CARE physician and North Shore University Hospital Bariatric obesity medicine physician.
