It is fueled by the strength of our son DJ whose life was affected by these diagnoses.Our son DJ DiVincenzo passed away in 2022 from PTLD a transplant related cancer, at 16 years old. Despite enduring four open heart surgeries, including two heart transplants at the ages of 6 months and 14, and being diagnosed with Autism at 2-1/2 years old, DJ's kindness and generosity inspired all who knew him.Our 16-year journey was challenging in every way. Without the support of our friends, employers, medical professionals, family members, and support organizations we could not have provided the level of care he needed. We understand the daunting nature of this journey and aim to give back and help families who are facing similar challenges.Proceeds from this event will support charities connected to DJ and fund a yearly scholarship in DJ's name at Stratford High School for a senior who has shown strength through adversity. We will also collaborate with social workers at New York Presbyterian (Morgan Stanley Children's) and other children's hospitals to identify families in need to help lessen the burden experienced with long hospital stays.DJ was a kind and giving soul who was always thoughtful of others, even during his own struggles. He would want us to help those in need. Our mission is to make a positive impact in the lives of others while keeping his legacy and spirit alive each day.Please consider joining us or making a donation to help our cause.
