Philip will bring examples to demonstrate some of the dramatic changes that have occurred in the hiking “gear-scape” and will answer any questions you might have. 

 

Bio

 

Philip Werner is the founder of the highly acclaimed hiking website SectionHiker.com, started in 2007. Since retiring, he’s hiked and backpacked over 10,000 miles in the United States and Scotland. Philip is on the board of directors for Vermont's Green Mountain Club. In the past, he’s 

been a volunteer trail maintainer for the US Forest Service, a Master Educator for Leave No Trace, and a backpacking guide for Andrew Skurka Adventures.
