About the event

Surfing the Surfeit: From Wreckage to Reclamation with Adriane Herman

Join us for Unity Environmental University's Artist Series event featuring Maine-based artist Adriane Herman. There will be a catered reception featuring a display of the artist's work. This is a free event. Parking is available on site and Freeport Hall is an accessible building.


Adriane Herman explores cycles of accumulation and release in our physical and emotional landscapes. Her collaboration with non-profit waste manager ecomaine entitled “Out of Sorts” pressed pause on the recycling process invited contemplation of our cultural commitment to convenience and disposability and received an eco-Excellence award. Her work is in The Whitney Museum of American Art Yale University Art Gallery Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art Progressive Corporation Ulrich Museum and Bates College Museum.
