I went to this stand-up comedy show expecting to have a good time, but unfortunately, the behaviour of one of the employees, Vishal, completely ruined the experience.

During the show, I was simply laughing at something the comedian said when Vishal approached me and told me, “I will cancel your subscription and throw you out of the show.” I found this extremely intimidating and completely unnecessary, especially when all I was doing was laughing at the comedian’s jokes.

If there was an issue with my behaviour, it could have been communicated politely and respectfully. Instead, I was spoken to in a threatening manner and made to feel uncomfortable for simply enjoying a comedy show.

What made the situation even more disappointing was that after saying this, Vishal simply walked away. He did not have the basic courtesy to stay back, explain what the issue was, or have a proper conversation with me.

I completely understand that venues have rules and employees may need to intervene when necessary. However, there is a huge difference between addressing a concern professionally and threatening a paying customer with being thrown out.

I came to a stand-up comedy show to laugh. Being reprimanded and threatened with being thrown out for doing exactly that is an experience I certainly did not expect.

The comedian may have been good, but the conduct of the staff — particularly Vishal — left a very unpleasant impression. I hope the management looks into this incident and takes appropriate feedback from its staff regarding how customers should be spoken to and treated.
