Course Objective
To help participants understand the fundamentals of photography from camera handling to composition and creative visualization and enable them to shoot confidently in manual mode.
COURSE OUTLINE
Day 1: Understanding Your Camera & Exposure Triangle
Topics Covered:
Introduction to DSLR / Mirrorless / Mobile Cameras
Understanding camera modes (Auto, P, A/Av, S/Tv, M)
The Exposure Triangle: Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO
How these three elements work together
Focus, depth of field, and how to control it
Practical Session:
Hands-on with different exposure settings and experimenting with light.
Takeaway Assignment:
Capture 5 shots experimenting with different apertures and shutter speeds.
Day 2: Composition, Framing & Light
Topics Covered:
Elements of good composition
Rule of thirds, leading lines, frames, patterns, symmetry
Working with natural and artificial light
Understanding shadows, highlights & contrast
Practical Session:
Indoor and outdoor framing practice around the venue.
Takeaway Assignment:
Shoot a photo story of 5 images using creative composition.
Day 3: Understanding Color, Mood & Genres
Topics Covered:
Color theory in photography
Creating mood through light and tones
Introduction to different genres:
Portraits
Street
Landscape
Travel / Product
Practical Session:
Live model / street walk or themed shoot (depending on location)
Takeaway Assignment:
Choose one genre and create 5 themed images.
Day 4: Editing, Review & Presentation
Topics Covered:
Basics of photo editing (using Lightroom / Snapseed / mobile apps)
Cropping, exposure correction, white balance, and color grading
File formats (RAW vs JPEG)
How to build your visual style
Practical Session:
Editing and peer review of participant work.
Group critique and feedback by mentor.
Certificate Presentation:
Each participant receives a Certificate of Completion.
