Impact of Parental Substance Use on Children and Young People
Join us for a training session led by Luke Adcock, Service Manager for The Matthew Project’s YouCan and Unity services, which support young people affected by substance use across Norfolk. With 20 years’ experience working directly with children and young people affected by substance misuse, Luke brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insight.
This session is designed to deepen your knowledge and strengthen your practice when working with children, young people, and families impacted by parental or personal substance use.
In this training, you will:
- Develop an understanding of the impact parental substance misuse can have on children and young people, including developmental, psychological, and physical effects.
- Recognise the impact a young person’s substance use can have on their family.
- Explore attitudes and values towards substance use and consider their impact on practice.
- Understand the risk factors and indicators that make young people more vulnerable to exploitation and county lines.
Venue: Norfolk Showground, Colman Room.
