Come check out Safe & Sound's beautiful classroom, range, and shop while getting your training on with us. Seating is limited, and this class will fill quickly. So sign up now.

For those newer to owning/carrying a handgun or those who who are in need of obtaining their Ohio CHL (concealed handgun license, also commonly known as "CCW"), this is the class for you. This class exceeds Ohio's minimum requirement for applying for an Ohio CHL. Upon successful completion of the classroom portion, range portion, and test at the end of the class you will receive the certificate necessary for applying for your Ohio Concealed Handgun License. 

Understand the fundamentals of owning and handling a pistol. Become more versed in situational awareness and necessary mindset. Learn or increase your safety and accuracy with a firearm. Receive hands on experience in using your handgun in a safe and comfortable environment. Train to use lethal force to defend yourself and loved ones. Be informed of your legal rights and the legal ramifications of carrying and using your firearm. Explore carry options. Learn of additional training opportunities.

James Cocking- Rangemaster Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Instructor, Certified Force Science Analyst, Graduate of the Law of Self Defense Instructor Program, Active Shooter Response Instructor, KR Certified Force on Force Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and Chief Range Safety Officer 

Korey Cocking- Rangemaster Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Training Counselor/Regional Counselor/Instructor, Certified Force Science Analyst, Graduate of the Law of Self Defense Instructor Program, KR Certified Force on Force Instructor, American Red Cross and American Heart Association Instructor, and Chief Range Safety Officer. 

*We continually seek and engage in training so that we may provide the best and most informative training for our students.* 


Required materials: handgun (loaners available at no charge with ADVANCE request), eye and ear protection (loaners available at no charge with ADVANCE request), at least 50 rounds of ammunition, and driver's license/state issued picture id. 

**Our host, Safe and Sound Outfitters, will be providing you breakfast snacks and a full lunch, and they will have loaner pistols available for you during class at no charge**
