- **Event Name**: World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 16 Nov, 2025 at 01:00 pm – Sun, 16 Nov, 2025 at 02:30 pm
- **Event Description**: Families of traffic crash victims, road safety advocates, faith leaders, elected officials, and community members will gather on Sunday, November 16 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Park Darius Miller Band Shell to commemorate World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims and to call for change in Connecticut.

Family members of victims will share their stories, and there will be a roll call of pedestrians and bicyclists who have died on Connecticut roads. We will be joined by community leaders, and a sea of over 300 small flags will represent those who have died on our roads in the last year. Attendees are invited to carry photos of loved ones who were killed in a traffic crash, including while walking, bicycling, driving, or as a passenger.

Our deep gratitude to Trantolo & Trantolo for making this event possible.

LOCATION INFORMATION
Access Walnut Hill Park Road through Walnut Hill Rd, Park Pl, Lexington (all off of W Main St) or Hart St.
The park loop is one way. The band shell is off of Linwood St, but that street is often blocked off, so proceed around the park loop to parking along the south side. Be aware that walkers and bikers are also using this lane.

PARKING:
There are two lots along the south side of the park, including one near the Walnut Hill Park Playscape. It is an uphill walk to the band shell, so if you have limited mobility, there is handicapped parking near the band shell.

TRANSIT:
From Hartford, take the 101, 102, or 928 from Main St @ Atheneum Sq to CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station. From the Downtown New Britain Station, buses run to New Britain General Hospital (501) or Grove Hill St @ West Main St (503). If on bicycle, take Main Street towards Central Park. Both West Main (then Walnut Hill Park Rd) and Arch St (then Grand St) will take you to the park.
