In June of 2024 Mike Bell was unexpectedly taken to the ER and
6 cm tumor was found in his brain. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer. A craniotomy and resection of the tumor was done that July, followed by intense chemo and radiation therapy treatments. Unfortunately, at his recheck this March (2025), they discovered it had returned and grown. He then underwent another craniotomy and surgery which lead to severe swelling and infection. Only a month after that, surgeons again discovered re-growth of the tumor which led to his third brain surgery to attempt to remove this tumor. Due to the severity of his case, he had to be transferred to Barnes-Jewish hospital in St. Louis, where he is currently receiving clinical trial with radiation treatment. We have hope that his team of doctors at this facility will be able to help him overcome this brain cancer and give him a chance at life.
Mike was born and raised in Virginia and has been a well-loved part of the community. He’s always been known for his kindness and willingness to help those in need, gives money to those when they are down and out, and provides support for others. We are hoping the community will rally together to help support Mike in the ways he’s helped others in the past.
If you were able to be so generous to provide a silent auction item, we do request that they are dropped off at Shepp’s Bar and Grill by July 30, 2025. If you are unable to take them to Shepp’s a member from our committee will be able to collect it from you, directly.
