Words & Womyn: A Weekly Poetry Workshop
Words & Womyn: A Weekly Workshop is a safe space that welcomes anyone female identifying to sit and soak in the power of thought and prose. Rejuvenate and exercise your second chakra of creativity, your third chakra of confidence, and your fifth chakra of expression in this weekly series that invites “poets” and “nonpoets” alike to come together to write, read, and listen.
Each week we will have a theme set by a poem, photograph, or art piece and write what we are inspired by within that theme. Option to read work aloud is strongly encouraged and graciously welcomed. At the end of each month, the workshop will honor any words written by the attendees in a “coffee shop open mic” style.
Facilitated by Lizz DeFeo, local yogi and punk writer/poet who has had published works in the likes of Chronogram Magazine, Milkweed Journal, and Crybaby Zine, Lizz has been penning stories and poems since she was a young child. A self-deemed moody oddball, Lizz has always been obsessed with the unabashed fervor that stems from this form of art and expression. She is so excited to share this passion within the walls of Wyld Womyn.
Come with a pen, paper, and open mind.
