State of the Field of Cyber Conflict Studies Workshop
Please join us for the third annual State of the Field Conference, co-hosted by Columbia University's School of Internaitonal and Public Affairs and the Cyber Conflict Studies Association.
This workshop will cover conflict as a field of research, review what are the central questions of the discipline, identify a shared body of existing research on those questions, and determine avenues forward. This year we have separated the workshop into six main topic areas: cyber conflict history; legal and ethical issues; intelligence and adversaries; and strategic dynamics of international security.
The event will bridge disciplines to create a working conference with the aim of identifying a canon on relevant literature and, ideally, adding to it. Building on last year's workshop and the now decade-old work by Dr. James Mulvenon, “Toward a Cyber Conflict Studies Research Agenda,” we will identify new questions and methods of discovery for the next decade.
Please note, this is an invitation-only event.
