Grassroots Activism: Lessons From Malcolm X

Asalaamu alaikum!

CCNY MSO & WII would like to cordially invite you to our 1st major event of this semester as we discuss the life of Malcolm X and the wisdoms we can draw from it with Imam Siraj Wahaj.

Allah (SWT) says in Surah Ra’d: “Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves”
Malcom X was a man who took initiative in his community and guided it with his spirituality. Unfortunately, the Muslim ummah of today, especially here in NYC, suffer from the lack of proper representation in government and are hardly outspoken in public.

Join us as we explore lessons from the life of Malcom X and how we can apply these wisdoms to ourselves. We also take a closer look at what we can do as a Muslim community here in New York City to cause change in this city of ours. Please invite family and friends for an invigorating and imperative discussion!

Admission is free and dinner will be served!
Lecture will also be streamed on Facebook LIVE.

WHEN: Thursday February 22, 2018
WHERE: Aronow Theater at CCNY
WHO: Imam Siraj Wahhaj
