Are you looking for meaningful engagement with other LGBTQIA+ folk of color? Could you use a place to sit down with people face to face and dream another world? Wouldn't it be great to take some of our rich discussions offline in a space of our own?
The #FreeXone4US Convening is for intentional celebration and reflection of US. All persons of color within the LGBTQIA+ community are welcome to attend. (Please honor the specificity of this convening. Allies, accomplices and friends who do not belong to The Community described are invited to share and donate.)
This is a space for us to activate our queer imaginations through connection, solidarity, and community.
Build connection by meeting your people through workshops, during intentional breaks, family chat, and at the dinner table.
Build solidarity around our passions and commitment to our social locations within the city.
Build community through shared experiences that can be nurtured beyond this convening.
Queer door prizes will be awarded from local LGBTQIA POC vendors.
This project is the work of Quanita Hailey, a chaplain based in New York City.
All presenters will be paid. If you would like to help us fund this endeavor, send donations to:
Be sure to put a note "#FreeXone4Us" so we can keep track of your generosity. We'd love to send you a note of thanks, too!
The event will be hosted at Union Theological Seminary in Manhattan. Take the 1 to 116 street or the A/B/C/D to 125.
