Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiators will be meeting in New York City starting January 26. The corporate media is telling the world that Fast Track legislation is a done deal. We must show them that it isn’t.
The TPP is a game-changer – it will set all of our work on many issues back for decades. Millions have raised their voices against it, from New Zealand to Malaysia to Mexico. This is our moment to come out strong, stand with communities across the world, and show those working for unjust trade that we will stop Fast Track for the TPP in the US!
Make every effort to join this rally in New York and spread the word to others.
Bring noisemakers to help make the sounds of resistance outside the hotel loud enough for negotiators to hear.

What are the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Fast Track?
Often called NAFTA 2.0, the TPP is a classified free trade agreement being negotiated with the help of nearly 600 corporate advisors (including Walmart, Chevron, Halliburton, Monsanto, and more). Threatening everything from worker rights and access to medicine to the environment and internet freedom, the deal even creates a "trade tribunal" in which corporations can file suit against local, state, and national policies for interfering with their current or "projected" future profits.
Trade Promotion Authority, or Fast Track, is a law that would give the President the power to negotiate and sign massive trade agreements such as the TPP with minimal congressional oversight. Under Fast Track, Congress has only a short period of time to review thousands of pages of legal language, is subject to restricted debate, and loses its right to make amendments to the text. Leaders in Congress are hoping to introduce a Fast Track bill in a matter of weeks, but we defeated the version of the legislation that came out last year -- and we know we can do it again.
