Reception with TOSOS and Yonkers Pride following performance
TOSOS, the Hudson River Museum and Yonkers Pride present a concert reading of Doric Wilson’s STREET THEATER at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers.
The Other Side of Silence (TOSOS) has been invited to participate in World Pride events at the Hudson River Museum on Saturday June 1, 2019 with a concert reading of our founder Doric Wilson’s STREET THEATER, his 1981 play about the moments prior to the Stonewall uprising.
Set in Greenwich Village on June 28 1969, shortly before the first brick was thrown at the Stonewall Inn, Doric Wilson's legendary satire STREET THEATER follows the exploits of the cruisers, drag queens, undercover cops, dykes, hippies, mobsters and bystanders (innocent and otherwise) as they catapult toward the moment that changed the course of history.
The performance takes place in the gallery where "Can I Get a Witness: Photographs by Herb Snitzer" is on view—featuring images that celebrate individuals from every walk of life and reflect a deep empathy and desire for social justice. Following, enjoy a special reception with the cast and crew. Recommended for ages 14+.
