The meeting will again be hosted by the Service Design Studio at the Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity, the Business Process Innovation and Design Team at HRA/DSS, 3x3, and ideas42 a non-profit that uses insights from behavioral science to improve lives, build better systems and policies, and drive social change.For the July event, we will continue to focus on user testing activities as a mechanism to build internal knowledge and center lived experiences by applying best practices from human-centered design, behavior design, and co-design to build affirming and effective programs, policy, and products. The magic ingredient for a robust and fruitful experience is always preparation. This forum will focus on the different ways one can think about embedding user testing and how to be conscious of potential bias that may impact the work. Our guest speaker, ideas42, will share examples of how they utilize behavioral design, iterative user feedback, and testing to understand behavioral related challenges and identify design strategies for improvement.Attendees will walk away with an increased understanding of how to develop a user-testing research proposal with protocols that center insights from those most affected by public services.
