- **Event Name**: A Matter of DUST - Art exhibition by Cecilia Collantes
- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 24 Oct, 2017 at 07:00 pm
- **Event Description**: “Art makes things. There are, I said, no objects in nature, only the grueling erosion of natural force, flecking, dilapidating, grinding down, reducing all matter to fluid, the thick primal soup from which new forms bob, grasping for life.”
– Camille Paglia, Sexual Personae

A MATTER OF DUST , is a multi-media event featuring Artwork by CECILIA COLLANTES, and performances by an outstanding group of multi-media guest artists from NYC that have presented work in the most renowned (The Park Avenue Armory, The Metropolitan Opera) as well as the most culturally avant-garde venues both in NYC and internationally.

The work presented at A MATTER OF DUST relates to the concepts of transformation, time and ritual expression directly linked to the artist's Peruvian roots and to the urgent and at times problematic realities of evolutionary culture.
Collantes refers to Dust as a primordial material, an Earthly and Cosmic medium that humans and the universe share in a micro-macro relationship. A MATTER OF DUST not only contemplates the duality of our great insignificance and equal insignificance in the known and unknown worlds, but also our connection to land and geography.
