Andy Rosen, Fits and Starts

Rosen likes bringing art to places where people aren't used to seeing it. His work often explores boundary spaces between domesticity and wilderness. He utilizes unconventional impractical or even absurd methods of construction as another way of testing boundaries “The more I push against these edges the more I see that there isn’t really a line. The wild continues into my thoughts anxieties and cravings.”

He has created site-specific installations for numerous locations in Maine and beyond. Rosen holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and a BFA from Alfred University. His art practice extends to teaching and he lives in South Portland with his family
