- **Event Description**: Meet Landon:  At 2 years old, Landon was diagnosed with Spastic Cerebral Palsy.   Born at 26 weeks of age and weighing only 2 lbs. 6 oz.; Landon has already beat the odds and now, has the chance to do it again! 
Landon was selected to receive Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery.  His surgery is scheduled for September 13 in St. Louis, Missouri. SDR is an invasive surgery, performed by entering the spine and shaving nerve hairs that are not connecting to the brain correctly and cause spasticity (muscle tightness).  Landon is in pain daily and, without the surgery, it will get worse as he gets older.  After a successful surgery, Landon has a 90% chance of being able to walk without using a walker for the first time in his life!  
Landon’s family – including his Dad James, a US Army SGT, his mother Jennifer, and his three siblings -- is very hopeful about Landon’s surgery and its potential to take away all the pain and tightness (spasticity) in his lower extremities. 
So are his friends from the New Egypt Elks!  
Landon is a fun, loving, energetic, determined, very intelligent and resilient 9-year-old boy who is very happy, but also a little nervous to be a candidate for SDR. Let’s offer him some support!  

All monies raised will be used to help his family cover roundtrip travel to St. Louis from NJ, incidental expenses during his hospitalization and recovery as well as extra PT expenses required following surgery.
