Experiencing the creative self through Mandala Art
" Experiencing the Creative self through Mandala Art ": Art Workshop & Heritage Walk at Humayun's Tomb
Each person’s life is like a mandala – a vast, limitless circle. We stand in the center of our own circle, and everything we see, hear and think forms the mandala of our life."
- Pema Chodron
A mandala is a sacred circle. Mandala (Sanskrit for “completion”) has a long history and is recognized for its deep spiritual meaning and representation of wholeness.
Each mandala that we create is a portrait of inner self – our ideas, feelings, emotions, and concepts. It is an exercise in visualizing and capturing the dynamism of our inner landscape.
Its intrinsic appeal lies in the fact that it relates to everything from each cell that we are composed of to the life that surrounds us - from the micro to the macro – all the patterns found in nature.
The connection to the celestial circles - the sun, the moon and the stars brings our attention back to the inner sphere. There is an implied dynamism within a circle, perhaps because of lack of corners. No beginning, no end. Eternity.
About the Workshop: This workshop shall be moderated by Jessica Singh In this workshop, we will practice establishing a connection with our creative selves, seep in the sacred geometry that we observe and bring it out on paper. We will also explore and identify its usage in the architectural elements of the Humayun Tomb complex.
By the end of the session, you will have your very own personalized mandalas to take away. And we will also indulge in developing a group mandala, through which we can have a glimpse of an experience the flow of sacred energies.
