From 20 sq ft to 20 acres, learn the how to's and tricks of the trade.About this EventGet ready for this growing season by learning all about our amazing native pollinator plants, their special characteristics and how to bring them to your yard. This event is open to anyone with an interest in learning more and will visit various restoration sites on the CEC property. Topics will include:Why plant nativesChoosing the right site and right plantsHow to prep the site and When to plantUsing plants or seedsPrairie maintenance; mowing or burningWeather permitting, we will go outside and visit various pollinator and butterfly gardens and several acres of prairie converted from lawn.This workshop will be run by CEC's founder and executive director Joe Meyer. Joe has been involved in prairie planting and restoration for 20 years. He has planted dozens of butterfly gardens for schools, churches and private land owners, as well as, over 50 acres of land into native prairie.
