This is a free event open to all boys and girls, ages 9 to 14.  Pre-registration is not required. Registration will now start at 8:00 A.M. instead of 10:00 A.M. The opening ceremony will now start at 8:30 A.M. instead of 10:30 A.M.  Location is in Nelsonville-York Middle school gymnasium. 

Starting at approximately 8:45, depending on who is registered, competition will start with girls or boys age 9 and advance by age and gender up to age 14.  All competitions should be concluded by 10:45 A.M. when Championship winners are announced. One winner for every age and gender.  

Championship winners will be eligible to advance to the regional level of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship in Marietta OH on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of January 1, 2026.  This applies every year we host this event. 

Boys and girls ages 9 to 11 will use a 28.5" ball and shoot from a 12' foul line. 

Boys ages 12 and 13 along with girls ages 12 to 14 will use a 28.5" ball and shoot from a 15' foul line. 

Boys age 14 will use a 29.5" ball and shoot from a 15' foul line. 

NOTE: Entrants may compete in only one local competition.
