The event returns as a fundraiser supporting the entry of Nelson Airport Emergency Service team members in the 2026 Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge, with all proceeds going to Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ. Entry is by donation.

To make the evening extra special, book your ride in style to and from the event on the double-decker Summer Beach Bus! The Summer Beach Bus will pick up pre-booked passengers from central Nelson and Tāhunanui and drop them off at Nelson Airport for the popular charity runway walk. The return trip will drop you back at the same locations. Seats are strictly limited and must be booked in advance at https://events.humanitix.com/walk-the-runway-2026-summer-beach-bus.
