Pro-CRUST-ination
Penny Taylor
Whakatū/Nelson
Two fin-tastic plays and a bit of nonsense.
Another crustaceological classic (back by popular demand) from local playwright, Penny Taylor.
Act One: meet Chris, a Columbus Crab who doesn’t like swimming! A bit of a drawback to his social development, his only (and lifelong) friend is Barnie, a barnacle. However, the time has come in Chris’ life, when he has to take the plunge and set out into the deep blue sea to find his true love.
David Attenborough and the Blue Planet crew may have captured the finale on film, but we reveal the backstory. Competition heats up as Christopher finds himself enduring underwater speed-dating before he finds his Mrs Right. A shamelessly cheeky aquatic reflection on the dating game.
Act Two: a group of friends winding up their away days at a bach end up meddling with the mystic. Will it be fun or a load of Pollocks? Do wine and spirits mix? Will it be fun or a net load of pollocks? What do the resident sea after-life have to say about the whole thing?
Some sole searching questions and everyone in their plaice! A lesson on not getting into hot water.
Don’t marinate at home! Scuttle along for two fin-tastic plays, snappy dialogue, cracking gen and some clawsome improv.
