Nelson Techno Collective is proud to present the release party for our very own Droneeater’s EP ‘Ngā Oro Rōria’ which we released in September. The EP features te reo Māori across traditional, and experimental, dance formats, pulling inspiration from traditional mōteatea, taonga pūoro and modern waiata hiko pumped out by the likes of Mokotron, Geneva AM and Moana and the Tribe. The single for the EP ‘Tō Wairua (Junus Orca Vocal Mix)’ has found success across the student radio network, reaching #1 on Radioactive’s Top 11 and featuring as the ‘hit pick’ for various other stations. Droneeater will perform the EP, and other waiata, live, building the songs as the audience moves to the beats. Kanikani mai! Alvaro Moreno and Dub Senei will provide support on the night, both also performing live electronic sets, navigating landscapes born of their respective genre. Alvaro Moreno’s set will take listeners on a journey through a live dub techno set while Dub Senei will lead the audience across terrain…..
