We are excited to announce that ZINE CRAFTING NIGHTS will be sponsoring this event, and offering slam participants a chance to win a spot in an upcoming poetry-zine! The top 3 winners will also receive a copy of their most recent zine! They will be hosting a workshop the day before (more info on Instagram: @zine.crafting.nights).

LOCATION: Nelson Seniors Center (717 Vernon Street, so-called "Nelson, BC", on unceded Sinixt Territory).
* Our location is at street level (no stairs/accessible). We have a kitchen, tea, coffee pots. Feel free to bring snacks to share.

SIGN UP / DOORS OPEN: 6pm
* If you'd like to perform in the open mic or the poetry slam, please sign up at 6pm (limited spots available).

EVENT START TIME: 6:30pm
Prizes for poetry slam winners

SLAM INFO:
* To be in the slam, you need 2 of you own / original poems which are 3 minutes or less (going over time will cost you points, and you may get cut off eventually). No instruments (body procession, beat boxing, rapping & singing are all welcome).

OPEN-MIC INFO:
- 5 minute spots. Limited spots. 

PRICE: Suggested donation 10-15$
* No one turned away for lack of funds
* Feel free to Pay It Forward

* Proceeds help us pay for: venue, booking feature poets, prizes, posters & marketing, tea / snacks, and sending 1 local poet to compete at the annual Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (CIPS) in Vancouver.
