Governance Roundtable #2: Do You Have Problem People of People Problems on Your Board?
Bring along with you any examples of board members behaving badly - behaviour that gets in the way of the board working well or is just annoying. It can be anything from not contributing to outright abusive behaviour. We will explore practical ways to help prevent it, calll it out, and ultimately deal with it (including, where necessary moving people on with grace).
This session will be led by Garth Nowland-Foreman, an experienced trainer and facilitator, and non-profit governance expert. garth is a director of LEAD Centre for Not for profit Governance & Leadership www.lead.org.nz, and led the recent Governance Bites series in Nelson. The Governance Roundtables offer a deeper dive on the practicalities of common non-profit board dilemmas. Places are strictly limited so we can sit around atable and together apply real-world improvements to our different boards, with the advantage of garth's extensive governance experience.
Numbers are limited to 15. Registration requests via Volunteer Nelson's website ONLY please. First come, first served at: https://www.volunteernelson.org.nz/workshop-registration/
This is the second of 12 'deeper dive' sessions where participants bring their experience and questions to share, whilst tailoring knowledge gained to theor own organisational needs.
