Get acquainted with the most ancient style of book binding! In this class students will make their own 5.5x7" hardcover sketchbook. Instructor Sarah Cowan will introduce the necessary materials for bookbinding plus how to choose papers. Using only high quality materials (including linen thread, handmade lokta papers for the cover, and 75lb sketch paper pages), participants will get hands-on instruction on how to measure, cut, fold, punch and sew a traditional coptic binding.
