The SAFER (South Island Alpine Fault Earthquake Response) Framework represents the culmination of two years of collaboration and kōrero between researchers, organisations, agencies and community groups and was published in October 2018. It was intended to be a living framework – used across New Zealand to develop planning for the next national exercise taking place in September 2020 which will focus on the AF8 Scenario.
This October, the AF8 SAFER Forum brings response agencies and stakeholders together again to discuss their work using the Framework, demonstrate ideas and best practice and ensures we will have a coordinated response to any future event. The Forum is planned for the day before the South Island CDEM conference at the same venue in Nelson.
Date: Wednesday 23 October
Venue: Trafalgar Centre, Nelson
Spaces are limited, please register your interest in attending here: https://af8.org.nz/safer-forum/
