Join local resident and passionate environmental advocate, Jacqui Purcell from In Our Hands Family Farm, for a hands-on workshop focused on tackling the issue of Christmas waste.
In this workshop, Jacqui will share practical, achievable strategies for a more sustainable holiday season, tackling the big question - how do we create less waste in the season of abundance and giving? She'll draw on her experience with the thriving local produce share movement she founded and her farm's innovative composting system, which has turned her family's waste problem into a valuable resource for enriching their soil.
This 1.5 hour workshop will cover:
Jacqui, a mother of two and 'chief hand' on her local Port Stephens farm, combines her background as a retired mining engineer with her dedication to sustainable agriculture and community building. She's been on a personal waste reduction journey for seven years, starting with a simple switch to cloth nappies that quickly grew into a mission to eliminate single-use plastics and other challenging waste items.
Join us for this free workshop and equip yourself with the knowledge to plan your best & most sustainable festive season ever!
