This trail was started last year, and now that spring has arrived, we are ready to get back to it! Camping is available on site (see details below).Work Site Hiking information:The hike is not very long or steep, but there is plenty of brush. We will cut our way through the brush and then focus on putting in trail tread.Event details:Some tread surface was partially completed in the previous trail parties. The area that still needs development is very brushy. We will be evaluating the tread to see how it has fared over the winter, and breaking ground for new trail through the brush.Detailed event information, including directions to the meeting location, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. If you’re volunteering for the first time, read this blog by a volunteer to know what to expect at your first trail party.Camping Details:For those who would rather stay outside, camping will still be provided for all volunteers, courtesy of Lower Nehalem Community Trust, at our work site of Alder Creek Farms.All volunteers choosing to camp must be self-sufficient campers with all of their own food and gear. Alder Creek Farms is very close to the towns of Manzanita and Nehalem with grocery stores and restaurants available. Water and a portable toilet are available on site.If you need gear, please email volunteers@trailkeepersoforegon.org at least one week in advance of this event to arrange gear checkout.What to bring:Plenty of water (there is potable water on the property)Snacks/lunchWork gloves if you have them (loaner gloves available)Any medications or emergency supplies you may needSunscreen + insect repellentA pack to bring all of this with you on trailAll the necessary food, camping gear, and supplies you need for the weekend.TKO provides all tools and personal protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, glasses)Need gear?
