First Day Hikes

Fulfill a New Year’s resolution to get more exercise. Hike for health!
Discover how great you will feel when you start the New Year off on the right foot with the First Day Hike!
Lewis & Clark Trails. Explore the River Overlook Trail or Birding Trail or Limestone Bluff Trail or Meadow Trail. Self-guided hikes.
When: Dawn to Dusk, Saturday, January 1, 2026. Hikes range from 15 minutes to 1 hour.

By participating in our First Day Hikes you will be joining the national “First Day Hikes” movement sponsored by America’s State Parks, offering an opportunity to kick off your new year with a healthy start. Note: The hikes take place on uneven terrain. Dogs are allowed on the Lewis & Clark trails. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water, cameras, binoculars and hiking poles if you have them.
