The Virginia Safari Park is ready to welcome you back for the 2026 season, and we’re kicking things off on Saturday, March 7.
Roll down your windows, grab a bucket of feed and come say hello to hundreds of free-roaming animals during our three-mile drive-through safari. From towering elk and bison to zebras, ostriches and a wide variety of deer and antelope, you never know who might wander up to your vehicle looking for a snack.
The adventure doesn’t stop with the safari drive. Stretch your legs and explore the Safari Village, our walk-through area filled with unforgettable animal encounters. Meet giraffes up close at the Giraffe Tower, stroll through the free-flight budgie aviary, visit the kangaroo walkabout and say hello to farmyard favorites in the petting area.
The Virginia Safari Park is also the only place in the United States where you can see the rare king cheetah. Be sure to stop by and visit sibling king cheetahs Sully and Shani while you’re exploring the Village.
Want to get even closer? Guests can enjoy unique animal encounters with species like two-toed sloths, African penguins and southern white rhinos. Before you head home, stop by the Safari Trading Post Gift Shop for plush animals, safari-themed souvenirs and gifts for every explorer.
Whether it’s your first visit or a family tradition, opening day is the perfect time to experience the Park, reconnect with favorite animals and make new memories.
