Yes, it's a long way off, but why not get it on your calendar now so that you'll know exactly where you'll be when new year's eve rolls around in December?
This NYE celebration is jointly hosted by Drums For One & All and the Natick Drum Circle, but is open to the wider community of the Common Street Spiritual Center.
Details will be taking shape over the course of the year, but the gist is to start off with a potluck social meal, followed by some live entertainment and then going into a drum-n-dance circle that leads up to just before midnight when we do the countdown and raise a toast to the transition from 2025 to 2026.
Cost will be $10 for adults.
Kids 12 and under get in free.
Extra drums will be available for borrowing.
Approximate schedule (open to revision)
7:00-8:30 potluck social meal
8:30-9:00 live music/dance entertainment
9:00-11:45 drum circle.
11:45-12:00 "toast" at midnight.
12:00-12:30 clean up and head home
As for the meal, beverages, desserts and finger food will be supplied, so you don't need to bring that stuff. What we do need are dishes that would serve as entrees in a sit-down meal, such as casseroles, soups, stews, salads. They can be pasta based, rice based, veggie based, meat based. Make a card that goes by the dish that says what's in it, so people can make their food choices appropriately.
Please note that this is an alcohol-free event.
