It will cover:Metal shop and welding safetyThe machine - settings, parts, etc.Basics of TIG welding arc, heat, shielding, etc.Tungsten - putting into torch head, grinding, etcFiller material - how to select, different types, how to hold and advanceWeld prep - cleaning materialCreating a weld poolRunning a bead with fillerBasic butt weldThis class will consist of one 4-hour session. Each student will get some torch time but that is not the primary focus of the class, rather it is to give students everything they need to feel comfortable on their own.Knowledge Level: Intermediate; Age level: 16+ yearsNOTE: Proper clothing and PPE are required when welding. All students must wear a cotton top, denim jeans or other natural cotton pants, and  leather or cotton close-toed shoes. Hair ties if hair is long. Polyester materials and skin-tight clothing may not be worn in this class.Safety is always the first priority when welding.
