As both programs continue to evolve, this seminar will dive into their final features, offering an in-depth comparison of their capabilities, workflows, and overall impact on the music production process. Whether you're a seasoned user or new to music notation software, this seminar will help you make an informed decision on which platform best suits your needs for the future of your musical projects.Keith Mason is the Coordinator of Music Technology for Belmont University’s College of Music and Performing Arts. He joined the Belmont faculty in 1998 where he teaches courses and develops curriculum in the areas of digital musicianship with a focus on music for media.Keith has more than 35 years of experience in the Nashville music industry where he has served as a label director, creative director, and staff producer for various production companies.As a professional music producer, composer, arranger, and digital musician, Keith has produced music for numerous organizations like Nissan, McDonald’s, Exxon, General Mills, Cadillac, Brentwood Music, Word Music, and others. Composer, arranger, orchestrator, jazz pianist, and worship leader, David’s writing spans over a number of genres and techniques. His choral music and worship songs are published by Oxford University Press, LifeWay, Integrity’s Hosanna Music, Word Music Now, Encompassing Music, Colla Voce, St. James Music Press, Art Masters Studios Inc. (Lorenz), Belden Street Music, and Earthsongs. His commercial scoring credits include Paramount Pictures, HBO, Showtime, McDonalds, Wendy’s, AT&amp;T, American Standard, General Electric, Proctor and Gamble, Sears, and the Environmental Protection Agency.David’s commercial jingle work received a number of Addy Awards in Cincinnati. He is leader and founder of the smooth jazz group Quad Venti, available on iTunes. David has written, performed, recorded, and collaborated for a number of artists and ensembles, including Maranatha Praise Band, Amy Grant, Chester Thompson, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Randy Cox, Derric Johnson, Jim Gilbert, Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Leann, and Carl Albrecht, Lynn DeShazo, and Denyce Graves.He is a music notation software and pro-audio specialist, and current beta tester for Dorico (Steinberg). Previously, he was a beta-tester for Finale (MakeMusic), Sibelius (Avid), and Composer’s Mosaic (MoTU). He received a M.M. degree in Composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a B.M. in Composition, Literature, Theory, and Piano from Heidelberg University, and an Associate in Theology degree from Florida Beacon Bible College.David studied composition with Lukas Foss, Paul Palombo, Norman Dinerstein, and John Rinehart, including master classes with Aaron Copland, Witold Lutosławski, Danny Elfman. Additional film orchestration study was with Steven Scott Smalley’s Art of Orchestration course. A BMI writer and composer, David won the prestigious BMI Awards to Student Composers in the classical division for his Piano Concerto in 1976.
