About the event

Phishing to Fraud: Protecting Yourself in a High-Tech Scam Landscape

The modern era has seen a massive proliferation of scams targeting individuals in all sorts of places: phone calls via social media text email and in many other ways. This coupled with the rise of AI and other sophisticated phishing schemes can make it very difficult to understand and navigate the risk posed by these real-world threats.

In this panel we will explore the kind of threats that individuals may face now or in the future as well as ways to protect themselves. We’ll also use case studies to illustrate just how insidious these campaigns can be. And finally we’ll go through resources that are available in a situation should one be victimized by a scammer.
