It reimagines both the music itself and the standard of who is represented and recognized in jazz. It is dedicated to the trailblazing women who came before us: the producers, instrumentalists, composers, arrangers, educators, and artists whose contributions have too often gone unseen, even while their influence shaped the music we love. This album exists because of their perseverance which inspired this project to be dreamable and doable.Recorded at the historic RCA Studio B, this album marks the first all-women recording project in the studio’s history - a space long associated with the Nashville Sound. This project was funded through a GoFundMe, Metro Arts, and Anonymous Philanthropy.
