Coercive Control, Cults and Community Conference — 6 CE Hours
This workshop is meant to educate community support professionals—counselors, social workers, attorneys, law enforcement, educators, and clergy/church leaders—on the presence and influence of cults and coercive control in our communities. The workshop will touch on identifying high demand groups, what resources may be engaged in supporting individuals and families who are affected by such groups, appropriate counseling approaches, and methods to deter their growth and influence. The workshop will feature professionals in the counseling and social work fields who have experience in these areas, as well as cult survivors who are in the ongoing process of healing and flourishing in healthy situations. With education, a major aim of the workshop is for participants to be motivated to make a positive difference in the ways they approach coercive control in their respective communities. 6 CE credit hours available.
