3 May – 9 June 2019
Opening 6pm Friday 3 May 2019
These sculptures are inspired by geometric shapes, playing with form and perspective. Geometric rules calculate the volume of a cube by reference to the length of its straight edges. These cubes, without straight edges, appear to contain spheres. The shape of the space they occupy depends on the viewer’s perspective. Their negative spaces, when viewed from different perspectives, also reveal parts of the place in which they sit. Small parts of the view are framed to quietly bring attention to details that might otherwise be overlooked. It is a sculpture to look at, but also through – if you change your perspective.
