Giri, anche conosciuto come Gi Napoletano, nasce nell 85 a Napoli e si avvicina molto giovane al mondo della composizione di musica elettronica tramite un videogame : “Music 2000”. Da quel momento in poi coltiva parallelamente la passione e lo studio per i synth, il sound design, il djing e la collezione di vinili. Inclinazioni naturali portano il suo sound verso frontiere cupe ed industrial, come la second wave di Detroit e la techno 90/2000 made in UK. Influenze che nel tempo lo portano a costruire un sound molto identitario, deep ed ipnotico, spesso incentrato su textures complesse ed intricate ma che non trascurano l’attenzione per il groove e la potenza ritmica, un timbro ben riconoscibile sia nelle produzioni che nei dj set. Rilascia diversi EP sotto gli pseudonimi Gi Napoletano, D+N, Napoel per Labrynth, New Rhythmic, Naked Lunch. Nel 2019 i primi EP firmati Giri vengono rilasciati da Evod , Awry e Prophet e nel 2020 fonda la sua label, Antiterra Records. Nel luglio 2021, pubblica il suo primo concept album di 19 tracce “Antichthon” per l’etichetta che più l’ha influenzato in tutti questi anni, Axis Records di Jeff Mills. A seguire continua a rilasciare lavori per : Antiterra, No Signal, Molecular, Immaterial.Archives, Illegal Alien, Observant, Tienmcateteng, Subsist. Da qualche anno, oltre al lavoro in studio e nei club, ha ideato e porta avanti MidiMeeting, la synth jam napoletana che ha ormai fissa dimora al PunkTank.
