- **Event Description**: Join Soaring Arts on Thursday, February 26th at the Filling Home Community Center for a night of Praise, Worship and Painting! 

This is not necessarily a class, but a space for worship, prayer, connection, and creativity! 

What does this look like? 
-Praise and Worship leader, Devan Rivera will be playing live this night. 
-At the beginning of the night, one of our Soaring Artists will demonstrate a few simple abstract techniques that you could use to use to paint if you wish (some of which are pictured above.) Or you can also paint intuitively as the Spirt leads you.
-There will be different spaces set up throughout the building with easels and tables for you to get comfortable and 
worship, as well as lean into your creativity. 
-You can paint, dance, draw or write as you wish/feel led with no expectations. 

It doesn’t matter if you are an old pro or have never done anything like this before, we aim to set up a space that will help you lean into your creativity and have an enjoyable time! 

Please take note: The class is not being held at Soaring Arts Studios. We have moved the event to the Filling Home Community Center, which will enable us to have more space to spread out, get alone with God and create. However, our work space there will be in front of a wall of murals that were created by our Artists. So although it’s a new space, it still gives out those same creative vibes! 

All ages and abilities are welcome. We do ask that kids under 8 are accompanied by an adult. 

The class fee is $15.
This includes all the supplies needed to write, draw and create a 16”x20” canvas to take home, as well as a time of worship! 

We do ask that you pre-register/pre-pay for the class. You can do this by
1. Calling the Studio @ 419-592-0535! 
2.Stopping by the store @ 119 West Washington Street (daily from 8-4!) 
3. Signing up online (by following the link on this event under “get tickets.”)

                "description": "Soaring Arts Studio is a vibrant, inspiring place where artists with developmental disabilities are encouraged to explore their world through color! In the studio, artists hand paint fabric using a variety of adapted painting techniques that were learned from renowned art therapist, Patty Mitchell. After a two-week artist-in-residency program funded through a grant by the Ohio Arts Council, many people served by Filling Homes' adult day services discovered their artistic sides. The items sold in the Soaring Arts Studio store are the result of the process of our artists discovery of talents and tastes. One artist may enjoy painting solid colors on canvas while another may like adding touches of detail to those solid pieces, still another may want to spend time drawing designs or embroidering. In this collaborative process, the art studio participants, staff and volunteers work together to create unique, quality, handcrafted merchandise. Original drawings/designs are used as prototypes that are sent to die cut manufacturers. These designs can then be duplicated and transferred onto the painted fabric that is cut out and used to create appliqués. These designs are then hand-stitched onto painted foundation pieces that are used to create tote bags, hot pads, drink coasters, greeting cards, quilted blankets, wall hangings, etc. \nWhat started out as art exploration has grown into a blossoming enterprise that offers the more than 30 people who participate in Soaring Arts to learn valuable job skills, while doing something they love. Studio participants are involved in all aspects of the business from creation to production to shopkeeping. All proceeds from the sale of these items go to compensating our artists for their contributions to the sale of the final products and to supporting the art program."
