- **Event Description**: Join us for a memorable morning celebrating the completion of the Boardwalk expansion project.About this EventBoardwalk Ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, 21st of February.The Department of Environmental Protection Division of Recreation and Parks, in partnership with the Friends of Fakahatchee, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Boardwalk site.Members are invited to attend this event that will mark the official opening of the entire boardwalk, extending from the new section opened in February 2024 to the reconstructed original boardwalk completed in mid-November 2025.The event, scheduled from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, will formally acknowledge the principal contributors to this outstanding project.The ceremony will take place at the Boardwalk Interpretive Pavilion.Members are required to RSVP, and no later than the 18th of February 2026.Membership status will be verified by the Friends of Fakahatchee.Arrival instruction will be e-mailed to our registered members the day before the event.For additional information call the Friends office at 239-495-1023 or e-mail Office@FOFInc.org.
