Join us during the 3rd annual Naples Women's Weekend! Kim Torpey will teach cornhusk doll-making techniques learned from her grandmother. Each participant will create their own doll made of corn husks and other natural materials, inspired by Brigid, Celtic icon of female independence, leadership, and creativity.
Associated with spring, Brigid is seen as a figure of transformation and "peace-weaving," holding relevance for environmental and social justice. In 2023, she became Ireland's first female patron saint honored with a national holiday.
All materials provided, and feel free to bring along any special details you'd like to add to your doll (dried flowers, herbs, leaves, moss, get creative!).
