This Special Winter Concert is a timed, open seating event. The kitchen is open before the show, with a limited menu beginning at 5 pm, and the bar will remain open throughout the show for beverage purchases. Heaters will also be utilized as needed to keep you comfortable. You can make dinner reservations by calling 239-732-1188.

About the artists:

J-Law Soul Violinist (Jonathan Lawrence) is a classically trained jazz violinist and fiddle player based in Southwest Florida. He began studying violin at the age of 9 in his hometown, Jacksonville Florida. Later, he became a student of Routa Kroumovitch (student of the late great David Oistrakh) at Stetson University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education with a focus in Violin Performance. 

During his studies, he traveled as a performer through England, Wales, and Italy. After college, J-Law began his career as a music teacher and violinist in Southwest Florida. He teaches general music, violin, orchestra, and chorus at the elementary level, performs as a sub with the Gulf Coast Symphony and Southwest Florida Symphony, and also with various groups as a jazz violinist and fiddle player. He’s performed bluegrass, folk, pop, country, Americana, hip hop, rock, reggae, and various other styles.

More recently, J-Law has performed several times with the Gulf Coast Symphony, Strange Arrangement, and reggae rock band, Indigo. He also has an album out called The Lonely Warrior. http://j-lawsoulviolinist.com 

A self-described “Jersey Shore Ex-Pat turned West Texas Desert Rat,” Hank Woji cut his musical teeth as a bassist in the super charged Asbury Park, NJ music scene of the 1980s & 90s, playing in many of the Garden State’s most dynamic and innovative bands including Sonny Kenn & The Wild Ideas, Blue Gumbo and Jah Love & The Survivors.

In Spring 2001 Hank moved to Houston, Texas and found his new musical voice as a Singer Songwriter, but it was his chance move, in 2009, to the far West Texas desert town of Terlingua, that has most reshaped his life and music.

Critics have described Hank’s music as “acoustic-wielding, sharply observed, Americana all the way” and being “in the best tradition of the Texas troubadours like Guy Clarke, Townes Van Zandt and Butch Hancock” and that “His troubadour style also comes very close to the style of Woody Guthrie or Pete Seeger, or as we heard on ‘Nebraska’ from Bruce Springsteen.”

Over his 20+ year songwriter career, Hank has performed with such notable artists as: Jonathan Byrd, Jaimee Harris, Bob Livingston, Sarah Lee Guthrie, David Amram, Butch Hancock, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Pete Seeger. www.hankwoji.com
