Candidate Forum for the US 6th Congressional District
Get ready for the March 2020 Primary!
The League of Women Voters of Naperville is sponsoring a candidate forum for the 6th Congressional District. It will be a Republican forum as the Democratic incumbent is not contested. The forum will take place at the Naperville Municipal Center at 7 PM.
The forum will be live broadcast at WCNC (Ch. 6 - WOW, Ch. 10 - Comcast, Ch. 99 - AT&T).
The invited candidates are:
Jeanne Ives (R)
Gordon (Jay) Kinzler (R)
How a Candidate Forum Works:
The candidates will have two minutes to present an opening statement, in turn, alphabetically. Questions chosen by the League for appropriateness and relevancy from those which we have solicited from various community groups, in addition to written questions from the audience that evening which the League will screen, will then be asked of all candidates in turn as time permits. The moderator will ask questions in rotation so that each candidate will have the opportunity to be the first to answer alternate questions. Candidates will each have up to two minutes to answer each question that is asked by the moderator as well as two minutes for a closing statement.
The primary takes place on March 17, 2020, to determine which candidates will run in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Do you need to find out which district you are in and verify your registration status? Go to Vote411 to check your registration status - the information will include your districts. You can also find a link to register to vote and find out what will be on your local ballot.
No surrogates are permitted to participate. An uncontested forum, that is, one with only one candidate, is not permitted.
